Traditional Iron Pergola, Rose or Fruit Tunnel
This is our Traditional Rose Tunnel or Pergola is similar in design to ones frequently used during the nineteenth century. Used in large gardens a tunnel or pergola was used for training roses and fruit trees.
The originals were made in solid wrought iron bars, all but our very widest tunnels and pergolas are made in solid bar, really wide structures are made from thick wall square tube.
Construction is in modular form and a traditional pergola or tunnel can be made to pretty much any length.
The pergola is made by connecting a series of solid square bar hoops (assembled from three pieces) with flat bars.
The standard tunnel or pergola is 6 foot 6 inches long (2m), 4 feet wide (1.22m) and seven feet high inside at the centre.
Most of our tunnels and pergolas are made to order the longest so far is 42 feet (13m) the widest eight feet (2.44 metres.) Matching arches can be made in the same way to match pergolas. Please see below.

Special Traditional Rose Arch
We make deep plain traditional style rose arches by producing single sections of our traditional rose tunnel or pergola. Some customers use these in a garden to team up with pergolas in the same style to give uniformity.
This example is attractively featured in the beautiful garden of one our stockists (R&R Saggers, Newport near Saffron Walden in Essex, well worth a visit).
This particular example is seven feet wide and two foot six inches deep.
Other arches and pergolas are available
